Help your child develop the concept that Christmas is not only about receiving; it is also about giving and helping others.
At this time of year there are many people and organizations needing extra help. There are many ways to teach your child to Cultivate Kindness. Some examples are: Give a toy to “Toys for Tots”, have the child donate a part of their allowance to a Salvation Army kettle, take a name from an Angel Tree, bring a bag of dog or cat food to an animal shelter, or make a batch of cookies for a shut-in.
Display this special plate at the beginning of the Christmas Season. Use the journal to record the date, the kind deed performed and the result. Include highlights of the season and perhaps a photo.
